When the wind is offshore in Kinmel Bay we head an hour up the coast to Newborough Anglesey, or Black Rock Sands Porthmadog. Here it will be onshore wind and its a great place to learn to Kitesurf. Its well worth the extra travel to get the lessons done and to get you on the Board. Its a little busier at Newborough with the local Kitesurfers and its great to see others riding as it will motivate you to get stuck in. Again there is lots of space with some nice lagoons with flat water for practicing body dragging and board starts. We know the water and the beach well here and it is a great place to learn.

There is a big car park and rest / changing rooms at Newborough. As you go into the forest there is a £4 toll charge to park there all day. If we are going to travel there we will give you good notice and provide a lift from Kinmel Bay if possible.

Directions from Kinmel Bay

Go towards Abergele and get on the A55, stay on the A55 all the way to Anglesey. After crossing the Britannia Bridge take the first left. After approx 400m there is a left turn to Newborough. There is a garage on the right hand side just after the turning for Newborough so its wise to go and stock up there before heading on. Follow the road all the way into newborough and you will reach a mini roundabout. take a right turn into the town where there is a cross roads. Go left here and follow the road all the way to the forest toll gate. Drive through the forest down to the Car Park. Or just follow us from Kinmel Bay. Keep it simple!
